Wolfram Kloppmann

Wolfram Kloppmann holds a PhD in isotope hydrogeochemistry from Paris XI University and an Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (accreditation to steer research) from Orléans University.

Wolfram joined BRGM, the FRench geological survey, in 1996. He was head of BGRM’s isotope unit and laboratory from 2011 to 2017. His specialties include chemistry and isotope characteristics of deep natural groundwaters and gases, water/rock interactions in aquifers, isotope fingerprinting of water contaminants, paleohydrology, traceability of geomaterials in particular in the field of cultural heritage, and degradation of building stones. Most of his research work has involved the use of environmental isotopes.

He participated in numerous EU projects under Horizon 2020’s Framework Programmes 5 to 8 as project coordinator or work package leader.
